- Stone only is a complete kit: the stone and all the resin you need, supplied in buckets. One bucket covers about 30 sq ft at 5 mm thick; a thicker layer needs more.
- Installation prices do not include the stone kit.
- Installation only is for a surface that is already prepared. Preparation and installation includes full preparation of the surface.
- Installation minimum: 100 sq ft. Smaller areas are priced as 100 sq ft.
- 5% GST is added to all prices.
- A 50% deposit confirms your order.

Common questions
How much does resin bound stone cost in Calgary?
Stone only is $10 per square foot, sold as a complete kit with all the resin supplied in buckets. Installation only is $15 per square foot. Preparation and installation is $20 per square foot. Installation prices do not include the stone kit. Installation has a minimum charge of 100 square feet. All prices are plus 5% GST, and a 50% deposit is required to confirm your order. For example, 100 sq ft is $1,000 for the stone, $1,500 for installation only or $2,000 for preparation and installation, before GST. In metric, that is about $107.64, $161.46 and $215.28 per square metre. The final price is confirmed in your quote.
What is the difference between the installation prices?
Installation only, at $15 per square foot, is for a surface that is already prepared. Preparation and installation, at $20 per square foot, covers full preparation of the surface and installation. GST of 5% is added on top. The minimum charge for installation is 100 square feet (about 9.3 m²), so a smaller area is priced as 100 square feet.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. We take a 50% deposit to confirm your order.
Do you repair driveways, garden paths and porches?
Yes. We repair driveways, garden paths and porches in Calgary, and restore uneven areas, cracks and salt damage. Contact us for a quote.
Is resin bound stone water permeable?
Yes. Water passes straight through the surface, so rain and meltwater drain away instead of pooling.
Is it slippery, and does it ice up in winter?
The textured stone surface is non-slip. With no standing water, ice does not build up, and the surface needs very little upkeep through the cold season.
Is resin bound stone safe for children and pets?
Yes. It is a comfortable surface for children to play on and suits homes and yards with pets. It does not give off chemical fumes and is suitable for enclosed spaces.
Will weeds grow through resin bound stone?
No joints means nowhere for weeds to root through. Resin bound stone is one seamless layer, unlike pavers or slabs with gaps between them. Between visits, just sweep or wash the surface so dirt does not build up on top.
Will it crack like a concrete driveway?
Resin bound stone is flexible. Concrete is rigid, so it cracks as the ground freezes, thaws and shifts. Our resin binder has give in it and moves with those small shifts. If the ground underneath has moved a lot or the base is broken, we repair it first, and we will tell you when we see the site.
How is resin bound stone different from rubber paving?
Resin bound stone is natural stone bound with resin. It is not a rubber surface, so you get the look and feel of real stone.
How long does a resin bound stone surface last?
The warranty runs from 2 to 10 years. To keep it valid, the surface needs our stone care service every 2 years: we clean it and apply a fresh protective sealer coat. Between visits, just wash it down when needed.
What is the stone care service?
A visit from us every 2 years to clean the surface and recoat it with protective sealer. It keeps the stone looking fresh and protected, and it is a condition of the 2–10 year warranty. Call us to book it or to get a price for your area.
Where can resin bound stone be installed?
Indoors and outdoors, on floors and walls: patios, gardens, outdoor steps, roof terraces, pool and spa surrounds, stairwells, and hotel and restaurant fronts. It can be applied over plaster, paper-faced gypsum board, fibre-cement board, metal sheet and glass.
What colours and grain sizes are available?
There are 36 colours in three grain sizes: fine (10–20 mesh, about 0.85–2 mm), medium (2–4 mm) and coarse (3–5 mm). Custom blends are made to order. Colours on screen are a guide, so check a physical sample before ordering.
Can I buy the stone and install it myself?
Yes. Stone only is sold at $10 per square foot as a complete kit: the stone plus all the resin, supplied in buckets. One bucket covers about 30 sq ft at 5 mm thick, and a thicker layer needs more. It trowels on smoothly and stays in place. The substrate must be firm, level and fully dry, and the stone is applied at 10–30 °C, out of rain and direct sun.
